Lighten Up, Francis

Lots of people are in a twist right now over some comments that Ann Coulter made during a CPAC speech. And I don't just mean the usual liberal crybabies. This time, all the crying I'm hearing is coming from conservatives. What exactly did she say? Well, specifically, she proposed a new "9/11 rule": "Rag-head talks tough, rag-head faces consequences." This is making certain segments of the conservative blogosphere squeal like someone spilled grape juice on their pinafores.

Let me tell you: If I attend an Ann Coulter speech or buy an Ann Coulter book and she doesn't say something like this, I'm going to demand my money back. When Gallagher is on, I want to see the Sledge-O-Matic; when Ann is on, I want some red meat, baby.

In the lexicon of insults that can be hurled at murderous, backward, wife-beating, genital-mutilating, corrupt, blood-thirsty, fanatical, Islamist maniacs, I think "rag-head" resides among the tamer options. If you want me to rebuke Ann Coulter, you're going to have to come up with a better reason than that.
